Community Advisory Group

The Barrington Road at Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) Interchange Improvements Study formed a Community Advisory Group (CAG) to ensure the values and interests of the community are incorporated into the project solutions.

The Community Advisory Group (CAG) supported the CSS process and stakeholder engagement during the planning process.  The CAG included community leaders and representatives from a broad cross section of area interests with the project area jurisdictions, including elected officials, representatives from local municipalities, and local resource agencies. CAG members also consisted of property owners, business owners, and residents within or near the project study area, as well as other interested citizens.  Public, private and non-profit advocates of long-range planning, environmental sustainability, and transportation management also participated.

The CAG helped ensure that identified project solutions balance community, technical and long-range planning needs. It also assisted in keeping the project on the right track with respect to implementation. The CAG provided input at key project milestones throughout the planning process. CAG meetings are designed to encourage timely and meaningful input by members.   The CAG met in a workshop format, during regular business hours and met five times throughout the project at key project milestones.
